How each task is scored
threshold
Call whether any quarter-hour clears beyond a threshold, with a confidence. Points are a scaled Brier score, which rewards honest confidence: a coin flip scores 50, certain and right 100, certain and wrong -100.
bid_ladder
Offer a plant's output into one hour of the auction. The plant has a marginal cost. The participant offers up to three price/volume steps (total at most the capacity); a step clears in each quarter-hour whose price is at or above its limit. Profit is (price - marginal cost) x cleared MW x 0.25 h. Points compare it with the best possible outcome (offering all capacity at marginal cost): 100 x profit / best when the best is positive; when every quarter-hour clears below cost, 100 for staying out, falling to 0 for selling everything.
price_block
Forecast the average cleared price over a block of hours. Points: 100 less 2 per EUR/MWh of absolute error (floor -100).
